Prayer about Generosity
Father God,
Thank You for being the ultimate giver—of life, of love, and of grace. As I reflect on the
example of Jesus, I’m convicted of the places where fear, pride, and a scarcity mindset
have kept me from being truly generous. Forgive me for the times I’ve hoarded what
You’ve given, conforming more to the world’s view of success than to Your call to love
and serve.
Today, I ask for a generous heart.
Help me be generous with my time—interruptible and available, even when it’s
inconvenient. Teach me to slow down for those You’ve placed in my life and to see
divine appointments where I once saw distractions.
Help me be generous with my talents—sharing freely what comes easily to me,
especially when it might be hard for someone else. May I use what You’ve given not just
for profit, but for purpose—Your purpose.
Help me be generous with my transparency—courageous enough to share my story, my
struggles, and my journey. Let my vulnerability make space for others to feel seen,
heard, and valued, and let Jesus be the center of those sacred conversations.
And help me be generous with grace—less critical, slower to judge, quicker to forgive.
Let me assume the best, release missteps with peace, and offer the kind of love that
reminds others of You.
Soften my heart, Lord. Realign my thinking. And open my eyes to eternal opportunities
hidden in ordinary moments.
Make me generous, not just in action, but in being—more like Jesus, who gave
everything.
In His name I pray,
Amen.
