‘Twas the Night Before Christmas for the OC Christian Business Man

‘Twas the night before Christmas in the land of OC,
Not a meeting to hold, nor a vendor to see.
All planning was done, all goals made quite clear,
Yet my heart sought more than just holiday cheer.

Then deep within my soul arose the Lord’s call:
“Let Me guide your New Year, the answer for all.
Now seek Me, Now trust Me, let go of your pride.
With prayer, with worship, let love be your guide.”

Moment by moment, with decisions to make,
I am clearly committed to make fewer mistakes.
Knowing the truth as I work day by day,
That spiritual moments are coming my way.

I declare to the Lord, “Help me not to miss my chance,
To walk with another through life’s fragile dance.
Many seasons are fraught with illness or fear,
Challenges familiar that are often so near.

The challenge in business is often distorted,
That money and winning are what’s most important.
Yet doorway of business is for people to connect,
And money and winning are idols, I suspect.

Success isn’t measured by money or fame,
But by walking with Jesus and lifting His name.”
With peace in my heart, I knelt down to pray,
Giving thanks for His grace and showing the way.

For today may be the best day of all,
For a friend to meet Jesus, to answer His call.
With arms open wide, releasing their fear,
Overcoming man’s pride, finding hope ever near.

This year, the eve of His birth brings a change
To my purpose, my hope, and the New Year’s refrain.
For tonight, I have heard the Lord loud and clear,
And His voice is the truth I will follow this year.

And I heard Him proclaim, as I rose in delight:
“Merry Christmas, my servant this year you’ll do right
By walking with Jesus each day and each night!”
